10 Months

This post isn't almost a month overdue, so I am doing a lot better this time. In this month she has perfected crawling and has been cruising around the furniture. She is adding more sounds to her babbling and getting into so much stuff now that she is mobile. She has also gotten her first non-shot related bruises. It's been very hot around here so we haven't gone out much.

Once again, Georgia was so tired she fell asleep while eating.

We've been putting stuff in front of areas we don't want her to get into. Georgia tried crawl under her chair to get under the end table.

This was right before getting a bath one night. I had already taken her clothes off and she started playing.

Georgia fell asleep on the way home from church and we were able to keep her asleep for a little while.



This is Georgia in her pool. She played in it for a few minutes and then Shawn turned on the hose that was hooked up to it for it to spray on her. Once the water started spraying her she started crying. We've since tried putting her back in the pool and she immediately started crying. We've even sat her next to the pool and she started crying. Now even the sight of it makes her cry. So no pool for Georgia this year.



And finally, Georgia's 10 month picture. She was very happy when we took this shot. We had to work for a while to get this picture because she kept wanting to grab the paper or start crawling away from the spot where we put her.

9 months

I am such a slacker. Now that Georgia is a few days away from being 10 months old I am finally getting around to posting about her being 9 months old!

Right after my last post and her doctor's appointment, Georgia started crawling! Now she is gotten the hang of it and is all over the place. She has started cruising a lot more too. So far, her way of getting back down when she is standing is to let go and fall. She is getting much better at her landings, so there is that.

9 Month Doctor's Visit

I just wanted to put up a quick post about Georgia's 9 month visit. First, she is 19 pounds 8 ounces in the 75th percentile, and 28.75 inches long in the 90th percentile. So, she is kinda long and sorta lean. At her 6 month visit she was supposed to get 2 shots but they were out of one of them. So this time she got two shots. And she didn't like it one bit. But other than her shots, she did really well. She is healthy and the doctor seems happy with her growth.

8 Months

Now that Georgia is almost 9 months old I figured I needed to get on the ball about posting her 8 month picture and updating the blog!

We haven't done anything special lately so we just have random pictures. Georgia has another well baby visit on Monday so new stats will be posted then. She is getting more verbal, adding more consonants to her vocab. She is also getting more mobile. So far she isn't really crawling forward, but she can go backwards and roll all over the place. She is taking very wobbly steps while someone holds her hands (oh she loves this so much!).

Here her dad is showing that he can hold her with one hand. She seems to have no fear as we throw her up in the air and she laughs and giggles the whole time. She smiled the whole time that Shawn was doing this to her.



This is something she loves to do, suck on her foot. It's crazy how flexible she is.

Busy Weekend

This weekend was super busy. I had two baby showers and a graduation party to attend. Then Sunday, for Mother's day, we had Georgia's infant dedication service at church. Afterward we went to Ruby Tuesday's to eat with my mom, Shawn's parents and his sister and two of her kids, plus our friends George and Shanna.

First, Friday we had my cousin Sharon's baby shower. She is adopting a baby boy that is due to arrive on the 21st. My mom and I had ordered the cake so after going to the store to pick up other things my mom was furnishing I got the cake. I got home and got ready to leave and then fed Georgia. They wanted her to come so I brought her with me while Shawn stayed home. I lost track of time and by the time I tried to give Georgia some baby food during the shower it was way past time for her to have eaten and very close to her bed time, so she was not happy. I ended up leaving before she had finished opening the gifts and Georgia screamed the whole way back home. I always give her some rice cereal before she goes to bed, but I knew I would need to nurse her to calm her down. So I did one side, fed her cereal, then let her nurse on the other side and put her to bed. It was way past her bedtime! When I put her in the high chair to give her the cereal she fell asleep in the seat.

Then on Saturday I went to a baby shower for the daughter of one of Shawn's cousins. Since Georgia had a long and trying time at the shower the previous night I didn't take her to this one. Of course everyone kept asking me where she was as well. I left the shower after it started getting to the two hour mark and she had only opened two gifts because I needed to get home to feed Georgia before we went to the graduation party. While at home, we had to give Georgia an impromptu bath because she pooped and it came out of her diaper and went all up her back. We also threw a load of clothes in the washing machine to avoid stains. After her bath, I nursed her and then we left. The party was for our friend George's girlfriend. Since they've been dating for most of our married life then she really is our friend too, but we still refer to her as George's girlfriend. The party was in Blythewood, so it took a little while to get there. We only knew George, Shanna, and Shanna's family, but that didn't stop many people from admiring Georgia and wanting to hold her. We stayed for about two hours and then left because we knew Georgia would be hitting her limit soon.

Sunday, of course, was Mother's day. I got a card from Shawn and one from Georgia. Then at church we had her infant dedication. My parents and my brother came, as well as Shawn's family, and George and Shanna. After church we went to eat and then got to spend time with Shawn's sister and some of her kids. We got to see Maddie for the first time in three years (she had grown so much!).

Easter, Zoo, and 7 months

I've been horrible about keeping up to date on posting. I think I have figured out why I couldn't upload Georgia's 6 month portraits but haven't gotten around to figuring out how to do it. Until then, we have a lot of things to update on.

Georgia had her first Easter. She got some new toys, Veggie Tales movies and some new books. She really loved the packaging, but some of the toys are a big hit too. After church we went to my mom's to eat and took pictures there. Then we went by Shawn's cousin's house to see some of his family there. It was a long day!

Then the next weekend we went to the zoo for the first time since Georgia was born. We got a membership to the zoo so we can go whenever or for however long. This time we were there for about 2 1/2 hours. We only say about half of the zoo and none of the botanical gardens. Georgia was more into people watching than actually seeing any animals, but she seemed to have fun.

Georgia has also hit the 7 month mark. She can sit unassisted and without propping herself up using her arms. She can't really crawl yet, but she is very mobile. She mostly moves backwards or rolls around on the floor. We keep trying to get her to crawl, but it just hasn't happened yet. Thankfully she still hasn't gotten to the point where strangers scare her, which is a giant plus. She also now has two teeth! This means she also bites with more pain than she did prior to teeth.

Spring time means irises. I wanted to take her picture in front of the irises, but she seemed more interested in pulling up weeds. Let's hope she still enjoys that when she gets old enough to help with the yard work!
